One of the more unusual victims of the recent extreme weather appears to have been a controversial exhibition of work by the elusive street artist Banksy.
Organisers of The Art of Banksy, being staged in a marquee at Moore Park’s Entertainment Quarter, are closing the show more than two weeks early “due to heatwave concerns”.

“The collection of artworks … have to be very carefully climate-controlled and this can no longer be guaranteed due to the heatwave, which is forecast to continue over the coming weeks,” said promoters TEG Live in a statement.
The touring show, which has already been staged in Melbourne with no weather issues, consists of 80 pieces of work from the British street artist – including iconic pieces such as Girl With A Red Balloon and Rude Copper.
