KARLA GRANT PRESENTS: NOT JUST THE NUMBERS ★★★

Monday 8.30pm, NITV

Marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women is this deeply personal documentary by NT activist, Shirleen Campbell (pictured). Motivated by family tragedy to address the issue in the town camps of Alice Springs, Campbell introduces us to women leading the charge for change. The film follows their trip to Canberra, and covers Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s repentance trip to the outback town following her inflammatory on-air comments.

HOME AND AWAY Season finale ★★★½

7pm, Seven

The local soap known for being more racy than its southern rival goes all out for this telemovie-length finale. Jake Ryan (Robbo) has plenty of showreel material should he plan on auditioning for a US police action drama, with the racing plot positioning him as a likely hero. There’s also plenty of (inferred) sex, a drug overdose and contrastingly serene scenes of new-baby bliss. A classic cliffhanger will leave fans hanging until the 2020 return.

QUEER EYE IN JAPAN ★★★★

Netflix

If you thought Queer Eye couldn’t get any more delightful, think again. As the Fab 5 hit Tokyo, the people they’re there to help are, if possible, even more heart-warmingly worthy and loveable than in the US locations and – just as importantly – the guys are open, curious and keen to bridge the cultural divide. What’s also fun is that it’s not until you see Jonathan and Tan actually in situ in Japan that it suddenly becomes obvious why the show is such a hit there. MH
